Modification Details/Execution/Initial Inspections

[To Manage Maintenance Program] [To Define Templates and Modifications]

Usage

Use this tab to view the intervals for when the initial inspections should be performed for this modification. You can define intervals either based on operational parameter values, or based on calendar units. You can enter one interval per defined operational parameter, and in addition you can have one record for a calendar interval. When the modification is calculated, all intervals will be calculated and compared to the values for the serials that has the Initial Inspection modification execution type in the Assign Serial tab, and which ever interval that is first reached will trigger the inspection to become due.

The initial inspections are normally used to determine if the continued inspections or terminating action of a modification is required or not. When completing an initial inspection for a serial, it has to be decided as to which action should be performed the next time. This is done by selecting the next modification execution type, possible values are Initial Inspection, Continued Inspection or Terminating Action. In the tab Assign Serial you can see this for each serial in the Mod Execution Type field.

The description of what should be inspected and how is done by connecting instructions in the Instruction tab. If the IFS Applications solution for Complex MRO is used, the description of the work to be done is defined by use of repair codes in manufacturing.
