Define Scheduling Resource
Explanation
This activity is used to define the maintenance
employees of a particular company as resources and to enter relevant
scheduling data for each resource. It is necessary to set up an employee as a
resource if you want to schedule the employee by using the Scheduling
Engine. Each resource must be connected to a valid resource type which is
defined in the Basic Data for Scheduling/Resource Type tab. If
scheduling data is not defined for a resource it will inherit the data from the
connected resource type, for example, the start and end locations of a resource
type's work shift and scheduling costs will be assigned to the resource. For the
start and end locations the geo-coordinates of the map positions will also be
transferred to the Scheduling Engine. The scheduling data for a resource can be
changed at any time.
The resources will be scheduled using a valid dataset. The Scheduling Engine will
then return a scheduled plan. For more information, refer to the
activities Define Scheduling Datasets and Define Scheduling Broadcast.
Prerequisites
- The company must have been defined.
- Scheduling resource types must have been defined.
- In order to be able to define a resource specific address ID
start/address ID end, there must exist addresses for the employee.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the employees of a
company that are to be scheduled will be set up
with relevant scheduling data and can be included in the Scheduling.

- In the Utilization (%) field, enter or update as a percentage the
maximum amount of time in a shift that the resource is to be scheduled.
- In the Speed Factor field, enter the proportion of calculated
travel time is to be used by the Scheduling Engine. If a value of 0.5 is
