Set up a Scheduled Task for Transferring Data to 360 Scheduling

Explanation

This activity is used to set up a scheduled task for transferring data to 360 Scheduling. It is recommended to have two scheduled tasks set up per dataset, one to transfer all data and another to transfer changes. For each scheduled task, there are specific parameters that need to be defined before the task can be executed as a background job. The scheduled task for transferring data to 360 Scheduling will have the following parameters:

Parameter Description
SENDER_ If the HTTP protocol is used to transfer data, the parameter value should be set to 360_HTTP. If the FTP protocol is used, then the parameter value should be set to 360_FILE. If this field is left empty, the default values defined for the object properties LOAD_TRANSFER and CHANGE_TRANSFER (in System Definitions/Object Property) will be assigned to this parameter.
SEND_TIMELINE_ This parameter is only valid when transferring change messages. Valid parameter values are TRUE or FALSE. If TRUE is selected, the system checks for changes, and if any changes exist, it will transfer these changes to 360 Scheduling using the scheduled task. If there are no changes, then the task will be used to transfer the current time instead.
INPUT_TYPE_ The type of message which is to be sent. Valid values are LOAD and CHANGE. Load messages will transfer all the data to 360 Scheduling. Change messages will only transfer work order changes that are stored in the transfer tables.
DATASET_ID_ The identity of the dataset that is to be sent to 360 Scheduling using the scheduled task.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, the schedule method for sending data for scheduling must have been set up with the required security settings.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, data will be transferred to 360 Scheduling through background jobs at the specified time intervals.

Procedure

  1. Open the New Database Task Schedule window and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Schedule Name field, enter a name for the scheduled task.
  3. In the Task Name field, select the schedule method ID that is defined for the Sch360SendDataUtil Logical Unit (LU). You can filter the results shown in the List of Values, e.g., by the Sch360 component, to locate the relevant schedule method.
  4. To define when the scheduled task should be performed, click one of the options under Schedule and enter the time in the Time field.
  5. Enter values for the parameters under Parameters.
  6. Enter the language and start and stop dates under Advanced.
  7. To activate the scheduled task, select the Active check box.
  8. Save the record (F12).
