Set up a Scheduled Task to Deactivate Scheduling of Datasets

Explanation

This activity is used to set up a scheduled task to deactivate schedule tasks of type LOAD and/or CHANGE as well as to deactivate an entire dataset from been scheduled in 360 Scheduling. There are specific parameters that need to be defined before the task can be executed as a background job. The scheduled task for deactivating a dataset will have the following parameters:

Parameter Description
DATASET_ID_ The identity of the dataset that should be deactivated or for which schedule tasks should be deactivated. '%' can be entered if all datasets should be deactivated.
DEACTIVATE_DATASET_ Determines if the specified dataset should be deactivated. Valid parameter values are TRUE or FALSE. If TRUE is selected, the dataset will be deactivated and all broadcasts from that dataset will be stopped.
DEACTIVATE_TASKS_ Determines if schedule tasks for the specified dataset should be deactivated. Valid parameter values are TRUE or FALSE.
TASK_INPUT_TYPE_ The type of schedule task for the specified dataset that should be stopped from transferring data to 360 Scheduling. Valid parameter values are LOAD or CHANGE. If a parameter value is not entered, both LOAD and CHANGE type schedule tasks will be deactivated.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, the database method for deactivating a scheduled task must have been set up with the required security settings.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a dataset and/or schedule tasks per dataset will be deactivated.

Procedure

  1. Open the New Database Task Schedule window and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Schedule Name field, enter a name for the scheduled task.
  3. In the Task Name field, select the schedule method ID related to the deactivating method that is defined for the Sch360SendDataUtil Logical Unit (LU). You can filter the results shown in the List of Values, e.g., by the Sch360 component, to locate the relevant schedule method.
  4. To define when the scheduled task should be performed, click one of the options under Schedule and enter the time in the Time field.
  5. Enter values for the parameters under Parameters.
  6. Enter the language and start and stop dates under Advanced.
  7. To activate the scheduled task, select the Active check box.
  8. Save the record (F12).
