Distribute Adjustment

[To Demand Planning]

Usage

Use this dialog box to decide how an aggregated adjustment or the Life Cycle parameters start level and saturation, is divided down to its base flow part members. The usage of this dialog box depends on your starting point. You get a preview on the resulting adjustment when you click List in the dialog box.

From Combined Flow part

Here the adjustment/settings done on a combined flow part is distributed down to the base flow parts according to a reference part or group of parts. In this case you have to main selections, either to select a reference part, this will result in that the distribution of the forecast will be equal to the reference part's adjusted forecast distribution in the base flows. Option 2 is to select All in Reference Part and then select which group combination that should make up the distribution.

From Base Flow Group

Here the adjustment done on the group level is distributed down to the parts belonging to the group, this can be done based on the distribution between the parts in the same group in another flow. This is done by selecting the wanted reference flow. Another scenario is best illustrated by an example lets say you have an old and a new t-shirt both comes in 3 sizes Small, Medium and Large. The T-Shirts them self are a group in Demand Planning. Then you can say that I forecast to sell 1000 of the new T-Shirt and you want to use the reference for the 3 different sized based on the old T-Shirt sales. To achieve this you need to specify the reference flow this can be another than your current or it can be the same, then you need to specify the group member that is the old T-Shirt. You then set distribute by on the group that contains the sizes, in this case you need to set All in the Reference Part No field.

From Combined Flow Group

This will be a combination of the above 2. Where you will have All in Reference Part No, Distribute By in Reference Flow (since you will distribute among the different base flows), Then you have to select a reference group (the old T-Shirt) and then you select distribute by in the size group. When you click List you will get one percentage for each of the 3 sizes (Small, Medium and Large) fore each flow you have in your DP Server. So with 2 flows in the example you will get 6 different base flow target parts with their own percentage of the total adjustment.

Fields

This window contains:

Reference Part No: The part number to be used as reference. If set to All you will use a group selection as reference, Distribute by means that you are on a group level and will distribute to the parts in the group.

Reference Flow: The flow used to make up the reference. Distribute by will distribute the adjustment down to base flow level in 'right' proportions. If you select a flow when standing on combined flow then the spread among the base flows will be equal.

Reference Group Fields: Available group fields, lists all group fields used in Demand Planning. These are used to select the reference group and on what to distribute by. All means that the group is inactive/not used.

(Reference) Season Profile: Season profile group, same function as the above reference groups but based on the parts std Season profile.

(Reference) Classification: Classification group, same function as the above reference groups but based on the parts classification.

Based on: Selects if the reference should be Adjusted forecast (forecast) or if it should be the average of the historical sales (history), we use the average over one year.

Target: Selects if the target of the copy down is the forecast or the Life Cycle models parameters (Start Level or Saturation). When Life Cycle is selected and Based on forecast, the sum of the forecast periods decides the distribution. The Life Cycle option makes it possible to copy down relevant start level and saturation levels from aggregated levels so that the Life Cycle model can be used on base flow parts.

Result Table: when you click List, you will get a table showing the resulting adjustment. You can make changes in this adjustment in the table. Clicking Apply Adjustment will commit the adjustment.

Apply Adjustment: Applies the current adjustment and closes the dialog box.

List: Displays the current selected adjustment details. You then get the result of the adjustment in a spread sheet.

Cancel: Cancels/closes the dialog box.
