Create Work Order for Design Object
Explanation
This activity is used to create a work order for a design object. Work orders
can be created for assembly, testing, decommissioning, and dismantling purposes
and therefore can be created at any point, after the creation of a design
object. For example a pipe system with several fabricated assembly parts or
spools, might require the assembly of the spools on the exact location of the
plant/facility. Hence a work order is required for the assembly parent, and each
spool should be defined as a material requirement of the work order.
When a work order is created for a design object, it is possible to enter
mandatory information such as the maintenance organization and work order
directive required to register the work order. Optionally, it is possible to
select a standard job, in order to predefine the additional material and
operations needed to carry out the work. If the design object, for which the
work order is being created, has additional parts, an assembly structure and/or
standard job defined, the additional parts, objects in the assembly structure,
and materials defined for the standard job, will be inherited as material demand
for the work order. If a valid project connection exists,
the created work order will always be project connected. Based on the project
connected to the design object, the Planned Start and Planned Completion Dates
of the work order will be set to the Early Start and Finish Dates of the
connected activity respectively. One or more than one design objects can also be
selected for creating work orders resulting in multiple work orders, one for
each of the selected design objects.
Prerequisites
	- If the design object has additional parts defined, the assembly quantity
of each additional part should be one or more, to ensure that the additional
part will be inherited as material demand for the work order.
- If the design object has objects defined in its assembly structure, the
	Exclude from WO check box
of each additional part should be one or more, to ensure that the additional
part will be inherited as material demand for the work order.
System Effects
	- A work order is created for the design object, and can be
viewed in the Work Orders tab on the
	Design Object Work
Preparation window. The work order is created with the following
	details:

		- The Work Order Site and Directive fields in the
header of the Prepare Work Order window,
receive the values that you entered on the corresponding fields when
creating the work order for the design object.
- The value in the Connection Type field on the
General tab of the of the
		Prepare Work Order
window, would either be Design Object or Equipment, based on the absence
or presence of the design object in the Equipment Register.

- The resulting work order will consist of materials either from the
additional parts of the design object, the design parts of the objects in
the assembly structure of the design
object, the standard job defined when creating the work order, or all of
	them.
- The resulting work order will consists of operations from the standard
job specified when creating the work order.
- If a valid project connection exists on the design object, the work
	order will
automatically be connected to the project. If no project connection exists and a
cost centre is defined on the design object, the cost centre is passed as a
pre-posting of the work order.

Create Work Order
Procedure
	- Open the Design Object Work Preparation
window, search for the design object to which you want to create a work
order and right-click on the header and click Create Work Order.
Alternatively, to create a work order for a design object that has been
connected to a punch item open the
Punch Items window or
	the Punch List
window, right-click on the required punch item and click Create Work
	Order.
- In the Define Information for All Selected Objects group of fields,
	define values as follows:
	- In the Work Order Site field, click List to
select the ID of the site to which the work order(s) will belong. By
default, the user default site is displayed.  The name of the site is
displayed alongside this field, once the work order site has been entered.

- In the Maintenance Organization field, click List to
select the maintenance organization that will be responsible for the work
order(s). The description of the maintenance organization is displayed
alongside this field, once the maintenance organization has been entered.

- In the Standard Job ID field, click List to select the ID
of the standard job for the work order(s). The description of the standard
job  is displayed alongside this field, once the standard job ID has
	been entered.
- In the Directive field, enter a short description of the work you
plan to do with the work order(s) you are creating.

- In the Define Information for All Individual Objects group of fields,
values for Object ID, Object Site, Project
ID, Sub Project ID, Activity ID,
Activity Seq and Work Order Site fields are
displayed automatically, if and as defined on the design objects from which
the creation of the work order was originated. If required, define or modify
	the values in the
	following fields as follows:
	- In the Planned Start Date field, double click to select
the date when the work order processing should start. The system date is
	displayed by default.
- The value in the Planned Completion Date field, is calculated
automatically. Double click in this field to select and modify this date if
	required.
- In the Maintenance Organization field, click List to
change the maintenance organization that will be responsible for the work
order for the particular design object.
- In the Standard Job ID field, click List to select the ID
of the standard job for the particular design object in the work order.
- In the Directive field, enter a short description of the work you
plan to do on the particular design object with the work order you are
	creating.

- Click OK.

- Click the Work Orders
tab and view the created work order. To view the created work order in
detail, right click on the work order and click Work Order.
