Create MC Package

Explanation

This activity is used to create a MC package, which is a logical unit for a commissioning package. For example, all instrumentation in a commissioning package. The MC package is also connected to its parent commissioning package as part of this activity.

A MC package belongs to a functional parent commissioning package and is created as an object in a class (e.g., MC PACKAGE) with a object ID consisting of two parts. The first ID part is the parent commissioning package's number and the second part is the unique MC package number.
 

Prerequisites

• The design object class for which the MC object is being defined, should have a class defined with the Can have a free functional parent Class Relation.
• A registered commissioning package with Object ID.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to create a MC package object:

1. Open the Design Object or Design Objects window.
2. Click New.
3. In the Plant field, enter the name of the plant to which the object belongs. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
4. In the Class field, enter the name of the MC package class to which the object belongs. Use List of Values to select a suitable value.
5. In the Object ID field, click the drop down list to view and enter values for the ID model categories of the selected class. The first part is from the parent Commissioning Package ID and the second part will be the unique MC Package object's ID.
6. In the Description field, enter the main description for the design object, which can be viewed from other areas in the application.
7. Click Save. 

Use the following procedure to connect a MC package to its commissioning package by adding a Functional Parent:

1. Open the Design Object or Design Objects window.
2. Click New.
3. Search for the MC package object.
4. In the Functional Parent field, use the list of values to select a commissioning package with an Object ID that corresponds to the first part of the MC package's object ID.
5. Click Save.

Use the following procedure to connect a MC package to a commissioning package via Drag & Drop: 

1. On the Business Object Explorer, navigate to and highlight the MC package object.
2. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the design object through the navigator structure, opening nodes as required to locate the commissioning package object. 
3. Place the mouse pointer (with connected object) over the object's Functional Parts folder.
4. Drop the design object onto the folder by releasing the mouse button. 

A successful drag and drop occurs when the receiving object accepts the functional child object. A non-valid drag and drop operation, e.g., dropping the design object into the wrong folder, results in an error message. Drag and drop connects and saves simultaneously.
