Copy Standard Serial Structure

Explanation

Use the menu choice Copy/Standard Serial Structure to import a serial part's structure from IFS/PDM Configuration. Use this function when you want to modify the imported standard serial structure in your project.

System Effects

A, B, C, and E are serial parts having the After Delivery Serial Tracking flag set in Part Catalog. D, F, and G are non-serial parts.

With the Copy Std Serial Structure menu option, the example structure from above will result in the following project structure:

 


The Copy Std Serial Structure menu option copies and expands the standard IFS/PDM Configuration structure so that the parts that are serial occurs according to the quantity specified in the standard structure. Only non-serial parts that are sub parts of serial parts are copied. Non-serial parts are not expanded in quantity. The Std. Planned Part flag, document survey, the list of documents connected to the standard part, and the part's spare part list are copied with the standard part to the corresponding new project items.

Procedure

  1. Select the part for which you want to import the structure.
  2. Select either the Import Std Structure or Copy Std Serial Structure menu options.
