Replace Project Item Revisions
Explanation
Use this activity to replace all occurrences of a specific part revision in the project
product structure.
If the new revision does not already exist in the delivery structure, the part revision is
automatically created as a new Project Part Definition.
The document survey and document requirements will be copied from the previous revision,
if it exists. Otherwise, the document requirements will be copied from the new Profile defined in PDM
Configuration.
Prerequisites
- The project item to be replaced cannot be in status 'Realized'.
- The new part revision must exist in PDM Configuration.
System Effects
- If the new part revision does not already exist in the project product structure, a new
project part definition entry is automatically created.
- If the document survey and/or document requirements for the previous revision exists, it is copied to the new revision.
Otherwise, document requirements are copied from the profile defined in PDM Configuration.
- The counter for the old part revision is decreased.
- The counter for the new part revision is increased.
- The
status of items with status Designed is set to Defined when they
are replaced.

Procedure
- Select the part definition part with the old revision that
you want to replace.
- Select Replace Project Item Revision option from the right mouse button
menu.
- In the dialog box that appears, enter the revision or use the List button to choose a revision, and
click OK.
