Enter FA Pre-posting

Explanation

Use this activity to enter pre-posting information and depreciation percentage distribution for a fixed asset.

Prerequisites

Before information can be entered in the Pre-posting tab, the following must have been completed:

• The object type must be Normal, Not Depreciable, or Expensed.
• The code part values must have been entered. This is done in Code Part Values in IFS/Accounting Rules.
• The posting control information must have been entered in Posting Control in IFS/Accounting Rules.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the pre-posting information can be used when transactions are created by the system.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to enter information in the Pre-posting tab:

1. Select the Pre-Posting tab. Default values are displayed for the account and the code part that is used for the object.
2. Enter information for other code parts, if appropriate.
3. Select the Code Part from the List of Values. The Description is fetch automatically by the system.
4. Enter the Code Part Value, Description and Percentage. The total value of the percentages entered must always equal to 100%. 
5. Save when finished.
