Change Shop Order Closure

Explanation

Use this activity to close a shop order either automatically or manually. The close tolerance specifies the quantity of parts which need to be received into inventory before the shop order can be closed.

Prerequisites

A shop order must exist.

As a result of this activity the system changes the close tolerance; this affects when the shop order is closed, whether automatically or manually.

Procedure

  1. Open the Shop Order window.
  2. In the Code list within the Auto Close area in the Detail tab, select either Auto close or Manually close.
  3. Type the required close tolerance percentage in the Tolerance field to indicate the percentage of the parts that must be received before closure is allowed. The value applies to automatically and manually closed shop orders. If the shop order has been closed, the Date field displays the date of closure. If the shop order is still open, the Date field is blank.
  4. Save.

Note: The default value for the close tolerance is specified in the Close Tolerance field of the Inventory Part/Manufacturing tab.
