Unissue Material

Explanation

This activity is used to manually unissue material previously issued. You cannot unissue more material than you issued for the shop order. When you unissue material, select an inventory location to receive it. When you unissue material, you must consider either FIFO (first in, first out) or LIFO (last in, first out).

When all material has been received, unissue of material on a shop order for a tracked item will not be allowed. If an unissue is needed, the received material should be unreceived first.

If the Catch Unit Enabled check box has been selected for the part, in the Part window, the catch quantity should be specified for the amount you need to unissue. 

Prerequisites

This activity requires that material be issued.

System Effects

• As a result of this activity, the system unissues previously issued material. 
• In the Manual Unissue Shop Order window, the Qty Reversed column is increased by the quantity you unissue. 
• The system creates reversed Work In Process (WIP) postings for the components that have been unissued.
• If the shop order was created from Project Delivery, the project delivery structure will be updated with quantity unissued.

Procedure

Via the Manual Unissue Shop Order window:

1. Select the material lines to un-issue. You can select one or more lines at a time.
2. Right-click anywhere in the table and then click Location to Unissue. The Location to Unissue window appears.
3. If you selected several material lines, you can scroll among them in the Component Part No list.
4. Select the inventory location in which to return the material. Enter the quantity to return in the Qty to Unissue field. You cannot unissue more parts than you issued.
5. Save.

Via the Shop Order or Disposition Shop Order - Complex Assembly Repair or Disposition Shop Order or MRO Shop Order windows:

1. Right-click anywhere in the header and then click Manual Unissue. The Manual Unissue Shop Order window appears.
   Note: The right-click option Manual Unissue will be disabled if the partial part is already received.
2. In Manual Unissue Shop Order, select the material line(s) to unissue. Right-click and then click Location to Unissue. The Location to Unissue window appears.
3. If you selected several material lines, you can scroll between them in the Component Part No list. The line displayed in the list becomes the selected line.
4. Select the inventory location to which to return the material. Enter the quantity to return in the Qty to Unissue field. You cannot un-issue more parts than you issued.
5. Save.
