Define Loss Cause Groups
Explanation
Use this activity to define the loss cause groups that
are to be used. When a new loss cause group is created, you need to choose its
type,  i.e., whether its an Internal or External loss cause group. This
loss cause group type is used to identify if the event is controlled by the
production unit where the event occurred or due to external causes. An example
of an internal loss cause group can be Mechanical Failure, while an external
loss cause group can be Lack of Order.
A loss cause group can have several loss causes
connected to it although a loss cause can only be connected to one loss cause
group.
Different types of loss cause groups will have
different effects on the APQ analysis of an equipment's performance:
	- When an event is reported and contains a loss
cause group with type External, the external stop time of the APQ analysis
	is affected.
- When an event is reported and contains a loss
cause group with type Internal, the internal stop time of the APQ analysis
	is affected.
Note: When performing an APQ analysis, you can
choose to carry out calculations with or without events connected to an external
loss cause group. All production rate graphs are calculated without events that
are connected to an external loss cause group.
Prerequisites
N/A
System Effects
	- A new loss cause group is created and can hold
connections to one or more loss causes.
- The loss cause group can be used in the
	calculation of APQ values.

Procedure
	- Open the Setup OEE window.
- Click Define Loss Cause Groups to open the

	Define Loss Cause Groups window.
- Create a new loss cause group in the window. You have several options to choose from when creating a new
record (a) click Create New on the toolbar (b) double-click on an existing record or, (c)
right-click anywhere in the table, and then click Insert.
- In the Loss Cause Group ID field, enter a unique ID
code for the new loss cause group.
- Enter a description for the new loss cause group in the Description field.
- In the Type field, specify if the new loss
cause group is of type internal or external.
- Save the record.
