Usage

Use this dialog box to perform project material requirements planning (PMRP), by considering all the activities belonging to a planned netting group (PNG) at a time, when calculating net requirements. This means that any excess supply of a part from one activity can be used to satisfy the demand for that part in other activities included in the PNG. PMRP can be performed for all the parts required by the activities in a specific PNG or all PNGs, at a single site or at all user-allowed sites.

A PNG can be made up of activities from multiple projects or from a single project. When planning material for projects, you can create a PNG for each individual project, so that the PNG only consists of activities from that project. This is known as a project PNG. When PMRP with netting per PNG is performed on a project PNG, it is equivalent to performing PMRP with netting per project for the PNGs associated project.

Part requirements can be ascertained based on the sources of supply and demand such as shop orders or customer orders. If PMRP was performed previously, then all the planned supplies and action messages generated in the previous process will be removed first. The results of PMRP suggest a process for fulfilling the demands using, for example, purchase or shop order requisitions. These results also suggest how to plan orders for optimal manufacturing in view of material availability. PMRP plans the supply for all the parts with a dependent demand. The product or recipe structures of the parts must have been entered. After the structures are entered, you can run PMRP for all the parts with a dependent demand. PMRP considers only company-owned stock and activity specific requirements.

If you click Schedule, it will open a window to create a new schedule. Specify scheduling parameters until it is completed. Once it is done, the scheduled job can be queried from the Scheduled Database Tasks window.

When you initiate the process, a PMRP background job is executed. You can view it in the Background Jobs window.
