Set Work
Order Status to Prepared
Explanation
This activity is used to change the work order status to
Prepared so that the CBS server can schedule resources for it.
Prerequisites
- A work order that is connected to a CBS enabled site. A site is CBS
enabled in the Scheduling Basic Data window.
- The work order should be clearly defined in terms
of craft, number of people and hours required for the operation,
tools-and-facilities required, material used and dependencies between work order operations.
- Material and tools-and-facilities must be
connected to the operations for which they are required.
System Effects
- As a result of this activity the status of the work order will be changed to
Prepared.
- A journal entry is created for this event. Journal entries are generated in the Journal tab found in the
Prepare Work Order and Report In Work Order
windows.
-
If the site on the work order is a CBS enabled site,
and if the work order is connected to a project, dependencies are retrieved
from the project plan and transferred to CBS. If the work order is connected
to a work order structure, the dependencies between work orders are
retrieved from the work order structure and transferred to CBS.
- If the CBS server does not encounter any unresolved resource constraints;
- The Planned Start and Planned Finish fields of the operation lines will receive new
scheduled dates from the CBS server.
- The scheduling status of the operation lines will be set to
Scheduled.
- Allocations will be made for the operation and tools-and-facilities
lines.
- The
Required Date of the material requisition will be changed to that of the
operation line.
- The start and completion dates of the work order will be changed to the
start date of the first operation and the end date of the last operation respectively. In addition
the Scheduling Constraint field
on the Prepare Work Order/General tab or the Work
Order Execution Logic tab will be set to Resolved.
- If the work order is the parent work order of a structure the start and
completion dates of the parent work order will be changed to the start date
of the first work order and the completion date of the last work order. The
Scheduling Constraint of the parent work order will be set to Resolved
provided all operations within the structure are scheduled.
- If the CBS server encounters an unresolved resource constraint;
- The scheduling status of the relevant operation line will be set to
Unscheduled and allocations will not be made.
- The Scheduling Constraint field
on the Prepare Work Order/General tab or the Work
Order Execution Logic tab will be set to
Unresolved or Unresolved (Tardy). If
the Unresolved (Tardy) value is set, all constraints have been
resolved but the requested finish date on the work order has not been
met.
- For work order structures - the Scheduling
Constraint of the parent work order will be set to Unresolved
or Unresolved (Tardy).
The Changes Pending value will be displayed in this field when
there are changes done to the work order after it was scheduled the last
time, i.e., if for instance another craft is need than originally
assumed. Actions must then be taken to resolve the constraints. One such action
can be to add more resources of a missing craft. Use the information in
the Scheduling Info field of the operation line to identify the issue.
