Usage

Use this window to change forecast part parameters.

This window contains:

Flow ID: The identifier for the forecast set associated with the part. Note also that a part may be associated with more than one flow.

Flow Description: The description of the forecast set.

Part No: The forecast part number. Note that a part being forecasted through Demand Planning need not be an inventory part in the IFS Application.

Part Description: The forecast part's description.

This window contains:

In the Inherited Historical Demand group box:

Predecessor: The name of the forecast part's predecessor.  The predecessor is used when aggregating inherited demand.

Predecessor Description: The description of the predecessor.

Inheritance: The state of the inheritance flag (this can only be turned on/off from the demand plan client).

Start Date: The date to start inheriting demand from the specified predecessor.

End Date: The date to stop inheriting demand from the specified predecessor.

 

In the Flow Info group box:

Flow Description: The name of the flow.

Flow Type: The flow type, base or combined.

Site: The site associated with the flow.

Site Description: The description of the site.

 

In the Market Info group box:

Is Market Segment: Whether the part is a market segment part and thus a market segment (Yes) or not (No). See Market Segment

Fixed Market Share: Whether this part has fixed market share. See Market Segment

Market Segment: The market segment that is connected to this part number. See Market Segment

Market Segment Description: The market segment connected to this part's description . See Market Segment

In the Authorized Internal group box:

Phase In: The phase in date for the part. The user is not allowed to set any forecast quantity for the part, before the period witch contains this date. E.g. If using monthly period version and phase in date is 01.12.2003, the the user is not allowed to enter a forecast for the part in the periods before December 2003 (2003-12). See Authorize Intervals. Note that setting this date only affects the ability to set values in the Adjusted forecast.

Phase Out: The phase out date for the part. The user is not allowed to set any forecast quantity for the part, after the period witch contains this date. E.g. If using monthly period version and phase out date is 01.12.2004, the the user is not allowed to enter a forecast for the part in the periods after December 2004 (2004-12). See Authorize Intervals. Note that setting this date only affects the ability to set values in the Adjusted forecast.

 

In the Part Info group box:

Aggregation Type: The forecast part's current aggregation type.  There are 3 options:

Part Classification: The forecast part's classification the field is read only.  There are 11 classes:

Note that you can have a hierarchy of market segments (one market segment can be a market segment of another market segment). However, be careful when using this functionality because it can become complicated to use and understand.

Use this window to change parameters pertaining to the part's forecast model.

In the Forecast Model group box:

Forecast Model: The part's default forecast model. See Forecast Models.

Forecast Comment: General comments about the forecast model, the rationale for selection, etc.

Alpha: The default alpha parameter for the part. Modifying this parameter does not affect forecasts until a new forecast is made. See Forecast Models.

Beta: The default beta parameter for the part. Modifying this parameter does not affect forecasts until a new forecast is made. See Forecast Models.

Rho: The default rho parameter for the part. Modifying this parameter does not affect forecasts until a new forecast is made. See Forecast Models.

Moving Average Periods: The default number of moving average periods for the part. Modifying this parameter does not affect forecasts until a new forecast is made. See Forecast Models.

Delta: The delta parameter used to calculate the tracking signal. See Forecast Measures.

Season Profile: The seasonal profile for the part. See Forecast Models.

Season Profile Description: The user given seasonal profile description/name. See Forecast Models.

Manual Yearly Forecast: The default parameter used for the manual forecast model.

 

In the Forecast Measurements group box:

MAE: The part's current MAE value. See Forecast Measures.

MAPE: The part's current MAPE value. See Forecast Measures.

ME: The part's current ME value. See Forecast Measures.

MAE Value: The part's current value of MAE (MAE * Inventory value). See Forecast Measures.

Tracking Signal: The part's current value of the tracking signal. See Forecast Measures.

Expected Demand Size: The expected demand value for the next period if a demand occurs,  and the field Inter Arrival Time is the average period limit between the demand periods. This field is equal to the forecast for all models except Croston's.

Inter Arrival Time: This field is the expected average period time between demand occurrences.

This window contains:

Period Description: The period's description string. See Period Version.

Start Date: The period's start date.

End Date: The period's end date.

Historical Demand: The period's historical demand.

Inherited Demand: The period's inherited demand.

Historical Forecast: The period's historical forecast.

Adjusted Demand: The period's adjusted demand, which is the base for calculating the forecast.  By default, this field is equal to historical demand, but it can be changed.

Events: The period's events.

Budget: The period's budget.

Target Sales Plan: The period's target sales plan.
