Inherit Properties from Design Part to Design Object
Explanation
This activity is used to inherit terminals and wires defined on a design part
to the design object to which it is connected. The condition for inheriting
properties from the design part to design object could be enabled during the
class configuration. In that case, properties are automatically inherited when
the initial connection between design part and design object is established.
Otherwise a manual inheritance option could be called to do the job.
Prerequisites
A design part with terminals and wires should be connected to the design
object.
System Effects
Depending on the property inheritance setting selected:
- Design object terminals and/or wires will be retained and those on the connected design part can
be inherited, if the Keep option was selected.
- Design object terminals and/or wires will be updated with missing information, if any, from those on
the connected design part, if
the Update option was selected.
- Design object terminals and/or wires will be replaced with those on the
design part, if the Replace option was selected.
