View Project Delivery Structure Graphically

Explanation

Use this activity to view a project delivery structure graphically via Navigator for (part number).

In Navigator for (part number) (menu option View Navigator), you can search for an item to see its structure. Items with underlying structures are indicated by plus (+) signs on the map. You can move gradually down through the structure by double-clicking an item in the structure or by selecting one or more items and then clicking the Expand icon. The selected item will expand and the items at the underlying level will be shown. In this window, you also can do the following:

Procedure

Select your project product structure you want to explore in Delivery Projects or Project Product/Items, then:

To open an item to see its underlying structure:

  1. Expand the item by double-clicking it or selecting it and then clicking the Expand icon. The structure is expanded downward one level.
  2. To open up the structure further, repeat step 1.

To close the underlying structure of an item :

  1. Collapse the structure by double-clicking it or selecting it and then clicking the Collapse icon.
  2. To close the structure for other items, repeat step 1. Close the entire structure by selecting the topmost item.

To change the record data for a registered item:

  1. Select the desired item in the structure.
  2. Select Part Revision Information in the menu.
  3. In each tab, select the fields to be changed and enter the new or revised data.
  4. Save when completed.

To create a new structure:

  1. Mark the item in the structure for which you want to create a new underlying structure.
  2. View the item as a root item in the same window or in a new Navigator window:

To print an item's structure:

You can print a structure with or without first previewing it. When you print, the total structure is printed.
