Cancel Shop Order

Explanation

Use this activity to cancel one or more shop orders.

Note:

It is not advisable to cancel a MRO shop order. If a MRO shop order should be canceled it is better to close it instead.
It is not possible to cancel a disposition shop order via the cancel action. Before cancelling a disposition shop order you need to unrelease the CRO line.

Prerequisites

This activity requires the existence of a shop order in the Planned, Released, or Reserved status.

If a shop order is manually pegged against a customer order line, purchase order line or a shop order, the pegging has to be removed first.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system cancels each selected shop order. When this happens, all reservations and operation scheduling linked to that shop order are also canceled. This means that the capacity and material booked for the shop order become available for other shop orders. The shop order is removed.

If a MRO shop order is canceled, it is not possible to create a new order.

Procedure

Select the shop order(s) that you want to cancel. You can either select a single shop order from the Order No list via the Shop Order window, or you can select one or more orders from the table via the Shop Orders window.
Right-click anywhere in the header and then click Cancel. A dialog box appears asking whether you would want to cancel the order or orders.
Click Yes. The order is removed.
