Print Shop Order Pick List
Explanation
This activity is used to print shop order pick lists. You can preview before printing. The
pick list contains all material to be used in manufacturing the shop order. The pick list
is used as a basis for picking reserved material from inventory. The pick list does not
imply a physical reservation of parts; the picker determines where the parts are to be
picked.
There are four ways to generate a pick list:
- From Order Report dialog box. This method allows you to
create a pick list of data for multiple shop orders.
- By right-clicking within
Shop Order. This method
creates a pick list for only the current shop order.
- By selecting one or more rows in Shop Orders
window and right-clicking. This method creates one pick list with data for all the shop
orders associated with the selected rows.
- From the Create Pick List for Shop Order dialog box. This method also allows you to create a
pick list with data for multiple shop orders.
The Order Report dialog box has lists to select the desired options. The other three methods generate dialog
boxes having check boxes used to select the different options.
Each of the above four methods for generating pick lists provides options for selecting
the pick list sections to be included in the report. The pick print options are:
- Include Unconnected Material
- Include Part Summary
- Include Shop Order Information
- Include Location Information
A shop order pick list consists of three distinct sections, a summary section and two
detail sections. Any combination of the three sections can be included in a report.
- The summary section groups data by part and is designed to display totals for all parts
to be picked, regardless of the shop order.
- One detail section groups data by location and part; it is designed to present data in a
format most useful for the person picking the parts.
- The other detail section groups data by shop order and operation; it is designed to
simplify assembling all the parts required for each shop order operation.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that the shop order must have at
least Reserved status. To print a pick list per operation, there must be material linked
to the operation.
System Effects
As a result of this activity the system prints a pick
list with information on the material linked to selected shop orders. The printed pick
list's information cannot be printed on any other pick list.
