Usage

The Gantt charts show a graphical representation of the project structure and activity information.

The appearance of the Gantt chart can be adjusted in the Gantt Properties dialog box, available as a menu option. Other menu options for zooming and printing are also available.

Using this tab, the selected project's structure and activities are graphically presented. The beginning and the end of each activity bar correspond respectively to the Early Start (ES) and Early Finish (EF) dates of the activity, and summary bars are shown for the subprojects. Milestone activities, i.e. activities that have work days equal to zero, are represented as a diamond. A right-click function is used to expand or collapse the summary bars as desired. All bars are labeled with subproject or activity ID.

The value from the Calculated Progress field is represented by a progress bar on top of the activity bar. When right-clicking on an activity bar in the Gantt chart, the Activity window is opened to show this activity's information. This tab is enabled regardless of where the focus is in the project navigator, but only the subprojects or activities under the highlighted node in the project navigator are shown in the Gantt tab.

The activity ES and EF dates can be modified by revising the activity bars in the Gantt chart and saving. It is possible to both move the activity bar or change the length by dragging one end of the activity bar. To be able to modify activity bars, the Pointer Mode must be selected when right-clicking in the Gantt chart.

The non-working periods, as defined in the project calendar, are indicated in the Gantt chart with another color than the working periods. A vertical line in the Gantt chart represents today's date.

The activity network which consists of dependencies between activities is shown as relationship lines in the Gantt chart. These lines can be optionally shown or hidden as set in the Gantt Properties dialog. A relationship line between two activities represents the values for Predecessor activity, Successor activity, Dependency Type and Lag. It is possible to enter or update values for these.
