IFS Web Client Portlets

This is a brief description of all available portlets in IFS Web Client framework. This page contains information only of portlets provided by the IFS Web Client framework. Information of portlets implemented by other IFS modules is not included in this page. Information of each IFS Web Client portlet can be obtained by clicking the help button at the tool bar of each portlet.

RSS Reader Portlet

This portlet can be used to format and display contents of any RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) feed in your portal. RSS feeds providing information such as news, weather, blogs etc. are widely available in the World Wide Web.  more info

Bulletin Board Portlet

This portlet implements a bulletin. It allows you to read/write (post) messages to a specific topic. Topics can be created for conversation and users who have write access can post messages/comments on that topic. Some users will have read permission only, for a particular message. more info

Calculator Portlet

Use this portlet to perform simple calculations. This is a handy tool in the portal page for your day to day activities.

Define Global Variables Portlet

Use this portlet to change or set the value of global portal variables. Global portal variables are the ones that control behavior of portlets (for example setting an identifier of the customer whose data we will display). Their values can be either explicitly specified in portal's query string, or written to/read from the portal profile. The "Define Globals" portlet will not write anything to the profile but change portal's query string instead, so if you open the portal a second time, the old values are used. more info

General Information portlet

Use this portlet to go to the Tree Navigator page as well as to go to portal configuration page. 

KPI (Key Performance Indicator) Table Viewer portlet

Use this portlet to display information about "Information Access Layers" (IALs) which will be used in business analysis. You can view measured information based on different dimensions. Before using this portlet it is necessary to create an IAL starting with KPIT_ (Key Performance Indicator Table). In this portlet the information of selected IAL will be displayed. more info

KPI (Key Performance Indicator) Chart Viewer portlet

Use this portlet to display information about "Information Access Layers" (IALs) which will be used in business analysis. You can view measure information based on different dimensions. In this portlet the information of the selected IAL will be displayed. The Time dimension is presented on the X-axis and the Measures on the Y-axis. One or more dimension can be used and selected dimensions and corresponding values will be displayed just before the chart is displayed. Measures Corresponding to IAL, will be presented as labels on the top of the chart with the separate colors which is relevant to lines or bars. more info

My Links Portlet

Use this very useful portlet to create a list of IFS Applications pages that you frequently want to work with.  If you select "Save Link" from the "Options" menu while working with pages, then a link to that page is added to the Repository of links. My Links portlet can be configured to show the required links from this repository. New links which are not available in link repository can also be added to the portlet through "Modify Link Repository" page. This portlet is very useful if you work with a lot of different pages. Then two (or more) My Links portlets can be added with different links shown in each. For example having one for daily routines and one for Weekly/monthly routines etc. more info

Notes Portlet

Use this portlet to enter small memory notes, such as phone numbers, people to meet, etc. All it needs is to type the required text in the body of the portlet. The Notes Portlet will save itself while you type.

Outlook View Portlet

Use this portlet to view contents of your Microsoft Outlook folders. This portlet connects to your local outlook instance to the account of the currently logged on Windows user. Therefore it will work only on MS Windows workstations (The client machine needs to have Microsoft Outlook 2000 or higher installed).
You can configure this portlet to display different folders in Microsoft Outlook thus enabling you to view contents (e-mails etc) in them. more info

Note: This portlet uses the Outlook View Control, which is an ActiveX. The control is not installed in Outlook 2000 by default, but is available as an ActiveX control download from Microsoft.

Personal Messages Portlet

Use this portlet to display Personal Messages (outcome of a new Event Action Type). Event actions are administrated in the IFS Base Server Administration tool (Admin.exe) in the Event Registry. When a specific event (programmed in the business logic) occur in the business logic it is possible to create different event actions for them. The outcome could be email, SMS, Winpopup and some other medias. Personal Messages are just another type of media. more info

Select Statement Portlet

Use this portlet to see the result of a simple "Select statement".  The select statement is entered in the portlet configuration page. The result will be the contents of the portlet. more info

Quick Report

Use this portlet to view and easily access Quick Reports (including Crystal Reports) . This portlet can display all the reports available in the Quick Reports page found in the "Info Services" in the tree navigator. This portlet displays available reports which belongs to categories you have chosen to display at the portlet configuration page. The portlet shows the report's category, type and the description.  more info

Video Box

Use this portlet to view video clips while in your portal page. After giving the location of the movie file at the configuration page you can play the movie. more info

Web Page Portlet

Use this portlet to add a windowed web page to your portal page. You can add a link to almost any external or internal page like for example the Local Weather page from this portlet. The web page in the portlet will be loaded while the portal page is loading. With the zoom button available at the tool bar of the portlet you can open this web page in a new window.  more info

This is the welcome portlet for IFS Web Applications.
