Depending on the functionality you plan to use within IFS/Vehicle Information Management, parts of the activities here are mandatory.
Note: Before you start entering data you need to make sure that workshops have been established, that you have defined users (see Foundation1) and established sites and connected sites to users (see IFS Distribution).
Cancel Causes - Used to describe the causes that are valid when a running maintenance task is cancelled. Canceling a maintenance task makes the task pending again, and a historical entry is created for the cancellation.
Cancel Cause Access - Defines the cancellation causes that each user can enter when a task is cancelled.
Departments - Defines the valid departments within a workshop. When performing task distribution to a workshop you can also indicate which department within the workshop that should perform the maintenance task. Note: This is not the same as departments in IFS Maintenance. This step is optional.
Workshop Access - Defines the workshop each user can distribute tasks to. Note that the user has to be connected to the site of each workshop in order to distribute tasks to that workshop.
Permanent Material Requisition - Defines the material requisition on each site to use for material transactions on Simplified Work Orders. Note: Material transactions will be executed directly against inventory if permanent material requisitions are not defined. This step is optional. For more information, see Setting up for material transactions on Simplified Work Orders.
Work Types - Defines the work types that are valid for each maintenance task type. The work type can be entered during task distribution, and the work order will be created with that work type. This step is optional.
